Hi @QlikviewRaj11 ,

as a rule, Qlik Sense Desktop is not free. It needs to be authenticated to a Qlik Sense Enterprise Server with a valid license or Qlik Cloud.
In practice, as a courtesy for students and developers, we have been constantly releasing an unlock file that allows free use.
This policy might change at any time without prior communication... however, for the time being, I haven't heard about any intention to stop releasing the file.
Usually, when an unlock file expires, a new one gets released within a few days. There might be some delay in each cycle.

Yes - there is a way.

Just download Unlock file and follow the instructions. Note that you may need to select "All releases and patches"

cheers

Hi Lech, Thanks. Let me try. Is it valid for few days or it might work just like any other standalone tool (can be used only in desktop) - If it is like 15 days or 30 days.. do you think its worth or not I dont know

Hi Lech, Its working but I see it says it will expire on May 31 2026 - looks like around 45 days. What happens after that ? do we have any other way to extend this?

Thank you so much Daniele, makes sense. last time i used Qlikview was in 2021. Looks like Qliksense has gone through a lot. Iam really liking the Qliksense desktop. lot of items are bundled into it. Let me explore to get some basics. Thanks a lot

Is this something that could be reconsidered?

Currently Qlik is the only one out of the big three BI tools that lacks an 'official' free tier.

Powerbi has had powerbi desktop since inception and even Tableau recently launched a free Tableau Desktop version in addition to their free Tableau Public version. Neither PBI or Tableau desktop rely on a secret unlock file that may be removed without notice.

@devan9876 , I'm afraid I don't know much about business decisions, let alone having an opportunity of influencing them. 🙂
QSD used to be officially free, but then in June 2020 we abandoned the freemium model following business decisions concerning our vision for the future.
If you have any contact in the sales department, feel free to reach out to them and let them know how you feel, otherwise you can always log an idea an ideation.

Considering that Qlik, nowadays, is much more than Qlik Sense, there might be some changes in the strategy.
