Hi Bill,

There are a few approaches.

1. Easy but limited. Without any additional tools, you can utilize the SQL code that is generated by the Universe or WebI document by viewing the SQL. You can then paste this into a Qlik app to retrieve the results. You lose out on the Qlik associations by doing this though, as you only get what the universe would provide.

2. Harder, but significantly more flexible. Taking the SQL and tables used in the universe, you can build the data model in Qlik to connect to the tables, but let Qlik handle the joins. This provides you with the green-white-grey associations and allows you to explore the data more freely.

3. Third-party tools. Examples include UniverseBridge from Analytics8 and DataRoket Business Objects Connector.

An interesting post on the community has lots to review as well: QlikView vs BusinessObjects (BO)

Anyone out there have experience connecting Qlik to SAP BusinessObjects universes?
