Qlik Catalog Losing Metadata after Preparation

Greetings,

I am facing an issue, after preparing data from multiple tables, when i am storing the result the tags, business name and description from source tables are not copied in the final resultant table, is there any way to enabling the metadata in data preparation, so we don't have to write all description in the new table, and it automatically gets the information from the source tables.

Hi Muhammad,

By design Catalog will not merge metadata from multiples entities to a new one as a result of a flow. I suggest you to run an import/export metadata to apply tags and other information after prepare is done.

Honestly, I'm leaning towards Datahub. It has column level lineage which is a great advantage, active community and development. 2nd would be Open Metadata, the two seem very similar and I would say the difference is just in layouts. Other than that the features between the two seem the same.
