Data load with OLEDB Provider for oracle post Qlik upgrade to May2024 is very slow

Data load with OLEDB Provider for oracle post Qlik upgrade to May2024 is very slow

We have 67 million records to load from Oracle database, but data load is not completing even after waiting for 15+ hours

We tried different configurations for FETHSIZE, but it is not working. Could anyone help.

Hello, here are a few things to check (despite that this started after upgrading your Qlik Environment.

  • Examine Oracle Server Performance: Slow data loads can be a result of issues on the Oracle server side. Check the database server for any resource constraints (CPU, memory, disk I/O). Also, review any recent changes to the Oracle database that may be impacting performance that may have occurred at or near the time of your Qlik Upgrade.
Ensure that the Oracle server is not under heavy load or facing connectivity issues.
  • Ensure your with your infrastructure team to determine if network connection is still stable and fast enough for the volume of data you're pulling. Could this slowness be due to an annual data pull that is greater at this time of year perhaps?
  • Check that you are not inadvertently generating a larger than normal volume of synthetic keys. Synthetic keys warning when loading data

If you are using Qlik connectors, please check here for latest updates and information.

If you are using built in data connectors see: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/May2024/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/LoadData/adding-data.htm

If needed, check out the Sense connector analyzer available to you for troubleshooting.

If you have a multl-node environment, ensure that each node is on the same Qlik version and patch.

Finally,, whether you have a more complex environment or if you have upgraded from a much older version to May 2024, it may prove quite useful to arrange a Professional Service engagement to end to end review your environment (from apps to servers/connections etc) to ensure it is up to spec for Qlik May 2024. Your Qlik Account manager can work with you to arrange an engagement. Consider it a tune up for your environment if you haven't had one for a while 🙂

Kind regards...

Ciao,

The issue was due to oracle client 19c. After installing oracle client 21c on QlikView distribution services cluster, QDS task refresh were getting completed on time.

Regards,
