Hi,

Please check your firewall, on both Qlik Sense and SQL Server. You can try to Telent the SQL Server from the Qlik Sense one.

Then, check the name of your server. Also are you using Kerberos auth ?

By using the telnet command from the Qlik Sense server and trying to reach the MSSQL server, you'll see if any problem occurs on the proxy.

If the telnet is OK, then the problem is not the firewall; If not, it can be this, and you will need to open the correct port inbound on the MSSQL server(default is TCP 1433).

Hi @mpc ,

I have checked the telnet command with server name and port from Qlik Sense server. Its reaching out to sql server.

So port is open.

Did you try to connect with your user directly on the MSSQL server ?

Hi @jrathgebercs ,

Make sure the user you are using have all necessary privileges to access the Database.
One way I like to use is to install the SQL Server Management Studio on the machine where I'm trying to access the Database from and establish the connection. In my opinion, the connection errors on Management Studio are clearer to ready than ODBC Drivers.

That way, you can make sure you are using the correct parameters and have all the privileges that you need to access the Database.

Regards,

Mark Costa
