Hi there,
I am currently starting to use QDF at work and all is going well.
I would like to experiment with QDF more at home but cannot open the Variable Editor document because
I only have the Personal Edition of QlikView desktop.
Are there any plans to make the variable editor available to be opened with a Personal Edition license ?
Thanks
Mark
Hi Dathu.qv,
I found the best way to get started with QDF was to watch the videos in the QDF group and create a test deployment.
I moved all the QVD loaders into the QDF framework first.
Because we moved 1 document at a time into QDF we had to make sure that any QVDs that were being generated in the QDF shared folders were also available to documents in the old folder structure.
For this reason we left the QVD loader documents in both the QDF folders and old folder structure until all the documents that required the QVDs were moved into QDF.
So far I have just used shared variables\connections.
I have also tested the script to create calendar tables which will be very useful.
In the next week I will be training up another QlikView developer on how to use QDF so we can start using the remaining qlikview documents with QDF.
Thanks
Mark
I started up the same way as Mark O'Donovan, which worked great for me. What really makes the implementation easy is that you don't have to switch everything over at once. You can gradually migrate your loaders and reports over time with little downtime.
Hi, the new QDF Version 1.3.1 incorporates Variable Editor that include an embedded license.
Cheers
Hi Everyone, the embedded license used earlier was only valid until Jan-31 2014.
The latest release of QDF (updated today) have a later license valid until 2015.
Best Regards
Magnus
