Centralized Logging

1. What is centralized logging ? How does it help? What happens to the logs if it is not selected?

2. If centralized logging DB is selected and "new logging Database" option is selected will postgresql be created and all logs be written to the PostgreSQL DB?

3. What is the difference between Centralized logging and Standalone logging database?

Hello @AshwathRaj_26

Short answers to your questions:

1. See Qlik Logging Service. Logs will be written to disk if the Logging Service is not turned on and file logging has not been turned off.
2. If you select to use the logging service, then a new DB will be created to store the logs. They will still be logged to disk as files unless you have turned this off.
3. Those are two names for the same thing. Though "standalone" usually implies that the PostgreSQL DB used is not the one installed by Qlik Sense, but one installed by the customer themselves.

I would highly recommend browsing our Knowledge Base for information.
