Change stream for a published app

How do I change the stream for a published app? Is it possible?

I have a client who started out in Qlik Sense with a single app that they published into the everyone stream. Six months later they have more users and more applications. I have recommended them to divide their diffrent applications into multiple streams.

The question is: How do I move an application that resides in the Everyone stream into a new Stream. Deleting the published application and republishing it into a new stream is not an option as there are several user sheets and  published sheets that needs to be handled in the move.

I'm afraid you'll have to do this at the database level with some sql statements to update the repository database.

Sorry, but I have no further info on this matter.

I did some laborations in a local laboration environment, but I never saw it all the way through. My guess is that I missed some references in the database to fullfill a correct move.

We ended up republishing the app to the new designated stream and manually copied user objects from the old to the new app.

I'm new to Qlik Sense but every time I have a quite easy problem I understand that it is not possible .. Strange tool ..

Having to go in the database to change publication Stream seems so complicated ..

We could look at an alternate approach too.

1. Duplicate the original app

2. Delete original app

3. Rename the duplicated app to original app

4. Publish the new =ly renamed app to the new stream

5. Setup the security/tasks etc for the newly renamed app.

An old thread but how about the new Move functionality in Sense for those running into the problem nowadays.

As anderseriksson‌ mentions, it is possible to move apps between streams with the later Qlik Sense releases.

References in NPrinting to an Qlik Sense App should not be broken when using this new feature hence the app ID remains unchanged.
