How to investigate why qlik sense repository service doesn't start after installation?

Hi

After new installation of Qlik sense February version, the QRS service isn't starting.

Tried to start it manually via service manager and it failed (1053 error)

My question is how can I investigate it? i see a lot of logs in qlik folder, which one is relevant for my case?

Thanks,

Eli

Hi @EliGohar  You can look at logs under

C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log\Repository  for current

<shared folder provided during installation>\ArchivedLogs\<servername>\Repository for archived logs

Hi Eli,

This could be a .NET issue. All similar cases of this with the 1053 error were resolved by upgrading .NET to 4.6.2

Thanks,

Simon

Hi @ganapati_h
Thanks for your reply.
I have 3 folders in the path you provided: Audit, System and trace.
Which one can give me the exact reason for failure?

@simon_minifie  - it might be the .NET issue but i don't want to guess, again, i want to find it on logs file.

So you should go to Repository -> Trace -> System.log

You can investigate the system folder. The log will be  <servername>_Service_Repository.txt

@simon_minifie

please see the attached image.

This is the .Net version which installed on the machine.

It's supposed to work with this version?

Hi Eli,
According to the documentation, yes it is, but have had the issue before and upgrading to 4.6.2 solved it.
There's a number of community posts around the same issue you are seeing.
eg.
https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-Sense-Deployment-Management/Qlik-Sense-Repository-Service-Error-1...

There's also a suggestion in there around increasing the services timeout via regedit.

Thanks,
Simon
