How to reset user passowrds

I am having qlik sense in a domain environment. The idea is qlik sense hub to be accessible to remote users through https.

When I create new AD user accounts that will be used for qlik sense I choose temporary password and the user needs to reset it upon first login.

How I know that qlik sense is not doing the authentication, just passing it to AD.

But I am just wondering, how do you solve this problem for remote users.

Not just the initial password setup but what if they want to change it in a future.

I am trying to figure out easy way to do this.

The easiest way is to use "User Directory Connector". Check for it in QMC and you should be able to connect any user's list (ODBC/AD/... - see screenshot below) into your system.

But that is not going to solve the reset password problem.

I am getting users from AD anyway.

I end up setting RD Web access only for password reset.

It would have been nice if click would have this option or at least in the hub if I can place the url of the reset website so users can access it.

Why not?

If you are getting users data from client's AD, the password should be updated there after the reset...

The app should be reloaded to pick up the updated account's info, but it should not be very difficult to manage..

Because I said it will be accessed by remote users i.e users will only access the web portal for qliksense, without doing rdp to any server in the domain.

Domain is just created for easier administration.

So there is no way for them to reset passwords

Ian, I was able to do this with setting up RD Web Access server, on the IIS you for the website you need to enable one option, password reset, then they can reset it.

But you must have domain environment.
