Migrating Postgres from April 2020 to Feb 2021 on a different version of OS

Source --> Qlik Sense April 2020 on Windows 2012

Target --> Qlik Sense February 2021 on Windows 2019

Earlier we were moving from one version of QS to another on the same OS, so never had an issue with Postgres data migration. But now we are moving from 2012 to 2019, needing moving to a new windows VM.

And the problem we are facing is, though we were able to move QVDs and QVFs from old VM to new, we are trying to find a say to migrate Postgres too.

So we went ahead with a different approach: upgrade Qlik to Feb2020 or Apr 2020 on Win2012. Then upgrade Win2012 to Win2019. And then upgrade to Feb2021.

Will post here if we encounter any issues doing this.

Hello!

In this case you are looking for a migration and then an upgrade.

Basically idea is to migrate Qlik Sense from the source VM to the target VM on the same Qlik Sense version and then upgrade Qlik Sense to February 2021 on the target VM.

To do the migration you can use the following links to backup and restore a site:

Hope this helps!

Thank you @Bastien_Laugiero .

The segment "Qlik Sense Repository Database" is the more tricky one. Let me look into that part and get back.
