Qlik Sense Cloud download data files

Hi all,

We have a Qlik Sense Cloud (SAAS) instance and we are willing to download all the data that is uploaded on the cloud. However when checking noticed there is no way to download data on the cloud.

Only option that I could think of was to load each file into an application and export the data as excel. However as we have 50 over data files it will be very cumbersome.

Can anybody please help suggest how to do this? FYI I have role TenantAdmin role inside my cloud instance.

Thanks in advance...

Best Regards

Amar

Hello @amars and @fred2019 it is not possible to do so but I would then suggest you to open a feature request for this on our Ideation program: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Suggest-an-Idea/idb-p/qlik-ideas and then you can follow the process to open a new idea that you think could be nice to be added to the SaaS product: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/How-To-Submit-Feature-Requests-For-Qlik-Products/ta-p/1... Thank you!

Adding my voice to this need.  I'm even looking at samples provided by Qlik themselves, which reference a text file for setting load script behavior.  Yet it's not possible to even download that text file to look at it or adapt it for our own needs.

Hello @amars,

I am not sure I am fully understanding what you mean. Did you have a way of achieving so in Qlik on Windows? Is your requirement download all the data from an specific Qlik Sense application?

I think the feature requested is to be able to download a data file in the same way is it possible to upload it manually. Also for me it would be a very useful feature.

Is this still not possible? If so, it seems baffling that this hasn't been added yet. This has to be of utmost importance right next to being able to bulk delete files.

There are potential situations where you end up with files you can't export, or by accident flood your account with files that you have to delete one by one ( separate issue, I know, but related to file handling).

Any updates here at all?

Is this still not possible? I wanted to download our current data files before I replace them, as a backup.

It's really astounding that this feature was omitted.

Yeh - this is a serious flaw - super easy to fix from a development standpoint - you already have the permissions etc in place - let the people download!
Use-case example:

Numerous team members are using the same app and are using an excel file to "adjust" temporarily invalid data coming out of a 3rd party data source - for multiple collaborators to be able to make this work, it would be a much easier and safer workflow to allow a download of the latest copy (for backup) and changing before overwriting with new adjustments.

Absolutelly agree...this feature is a must. We should be able to download data files.

I'm also baffled that this doesn't seem to be possible as at now.

Regarding bulk deleting files, it appears that creating an Automation may allow this. There is no option to email a file or move to a cloud storage location using an Automation though.

Hopefully this feature will show up soon.

I fail to understand why we can only upload but we cannot download.

This feature is a must.
