Qlik Sense Installation Service Dispatcher Error

Hi Qlik Community,

I tried to install Qlik Sense Entreprise on Windows November 2022 on one of our customers server, but I receive an error when Qlik Sense is installing the Service Dispatcher. The error tells me to look into the setup log folder. The service dispatcher log is the latest log in the setup folder (see attachment).

Some additional info:

  • Windows License: Windows Server 2019 Standard Evaluation (Valid for 180 days)
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) and (x86)
  • No anti-virus installed

Could it be the windows license that causes the error?

I hope anyone can help me based on the log file in attachment.

Hello Jonas, 

If you look at the first log you uploaded, search for Return value 3.

We can see that above that, you have an error for "Deleting UpdateStarted".

What version are you upgrading from? As long as this is not a years-old version, I suggest trying to resolve this by verifying all services were stopped when trying to upgrade, as shown  in the 4 steps below:

  1. Stop all Qlik Sense Services
  2. Go to Task Manager on the server and verify the services/processes have stopped fully
  3. Run the upgrade again, de-select "start services" following the upgrade
  4. If the upgrade is successful, manually start all Qlik Sense Services in the preferred order
