we are currently migrating and upgrading our Sept 2020 Qlik Sense environments to new servers and the Feb 2022 release. We ran into an issue with the licensing. On our current QS servers, we have LEF licensing with a serial number and control number. Our Qlik rep provided temp licenses so we could run old and new environments at the same time while testing. When I applied the SLK we lost our user allocations previously set up. From my research we cannot go back to the LEF unless we reinstall the software and restore. Are there any other options? And if will it cause problems or conflicts if we run both environments for a month or so with the same licenses?
Hello @J_Mulholland ,
Thanks for posting.
Using the same license would go against the License agreement - https://www.qlik.com/es-es/-/media/files/legal/license-agreements/qlik/qula-english.pdf
Losing the allocations when moving from LEF to SLK is expected, but if you have assignment rules that not be a huge headache. Also, SLK has a huge advantage, the quarantine period is not there anymore, hence licenses can be reassigned on the fly.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Albert
