Qlik Sense on Kubernetes - what is the current state of this solution?

Goodmorning everyone,

checking on the help page of Qlik Sense on Kubernetes, I see the last Change log update (link) is quite old

So, I'm wondering what is the current state of Qlik Sense on Kubernetes.
Is it still developed, and actively released to customers/partners... or is it only internally used by Qlik to provide Qlik Sense SaaS?

Many thanks,
Riccardo

The below was we communicated last year, it mentions "to the end of 2020" but it is still the same situation. (last time I heard). But for more details I again have to refer you to your account manager.

Qlik has seen a major shift in the market where most of our customers and prospects have accelerated their move to SaaS due to the COVID-19 situation. To address this shift, Qlik has paused the Kubernetes development for the remainder of 2020 and is focusing efforts to accelerate delivering critical SaaS capabilities. We understand this may impact some of the projects you have planned, and we are willing to work with you to help ensure your projects are able to move forward.

For net new customers we have two options:

  • SaaS:  We can get you up and running with a SaaS tenant today. This will allow you to experience the Qlik Sense® Enterprise cloud solution as a service environment.
  • Client Managed (Windows):  Deploy Windows either in your data center or on the cloud vendor of your choice. This allows you to manage your own environment and deploy where and how you want.

For existing customers, in addition to the above options we will provide:

  • Client Managed (Kubernetes):  We will continue to support customers who have already started deploying on Kubernetes and who have the direct support of our service organization. Kubernetes remains a fully supported deployment option for Qlik Sense® Enterprise and we will continue to work with you to support your analytics initiatives and journey to the cloud.

In summary, our priority for the remainder of 2020 is to work with you and your accounts that were actively planning a private cloud deployment on Kubernetes as follows:

  • Investigate the possibility of moving to SaaS. Given the recent global conditions, there is a clear acceleration of moving to cloud and SaaS offerings.
  • If SaaS is not an option, would they consider remaining on Windows for the time being to support their needs? Are they leveraging any private cloud resources on AWS, Azure, GCP? Is that an option for a Windows deployment?
  • Where SaaS or Client-Managed Windows is not an option, and where a Kubernetes deployment cannot be deferred, please engage Product Management and Services to support your conversations

@rzenere_avvale

There are some restrictions in place for using QlikSense on Kubernetes

If you are interested to use QSoK contact your account manager.

Hey @Maria_Halley,

thanks for your answer. My question rise as I was interested in knowing if it still a product that we can focus on to expand our portfolio, or if it would be better focusing on something else.
So ok, there are some restrictions to start working with QSoK, but what is the current state of the product?
