Today I read that QlikSense desktop will no longer available for download and use (as well as existing installations) from June 2020.
Rumour or fact ?
Why do this ? Besides profiteering ? Surely there are other ways to encourage early adopters ? Forcing people to Qlik SaaS offering is not a great option as it does not support much in the way of extensions and of course locks out 3rd party extension provides such as VizLib which I use when prototyping before migrating to a server.
Do you have any news about it? It looks like Qlik Sense Destkop still working for free.
There has been some issues with June 2020 release, the new date is 14 July 2020. Read more here: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-Support-Updates-Blog/Qlik-Sense-Desktop-June-2020-Install-Issue-U...
Today is 16. July and Qlik Desktop still working. I'm logged as Desktop client user. Do you have any new informations in this topic?
Is anybody in contact with Qlik for an answer on this?
It seems weird not to know the official plan moving forward. Was this topic addressed in the Qlik World event?
30th July 2020 and still no QS Desktop roadmap unless I missed i, apart from "QS Desktop no longer free"
So much for all the wooly fluffy stuff, marketing hypebole, "democratisation of data......." blah blah blah........
QV11 certified but it looks like it's time to rollover to Power BI or Tableau if I want to commoditise
a QS app I developed that identifies Futures (and yield) that are moved by events like Economic News etc.
Shame really.
I'd like to know what the QS Desktop roadmap is.
