QlikSense and QlikView Notification Overlay

Is there any feature that would allow my companies Qlik Admin support team to populate a overlay message on all apps (a users personal workspace, or published apps) in QlikSense and QlikView?

Need to notify users of maintenance windows/feature enhancements (version updates)/ and sunset dates of Qlik View.  We have multiple communications platforms, but still running into issues with users not reading emails. We are looking for a visual on the apps that the users interact with for more direct targeted efforts.

  • Which version has this feature? (Feb2022)
  • Which products will this work in? (On prem - QlikSense Enterprise for Windows/QlikView Enterprise)

This may eventually extend to the users workspace app hub (if possible) to alert developers of apps with low activity and to remove those apps.

Hi @Nelson1 ,

As per my knowledge, there is no such functionality directly available to show the message or Alert.

But as a workaround, you can design the login page in both Qlikview (Pretty simple and straightforward can modify the login.html page) and Qliksense. Where you can give your alert or message to the user. Which they can't ignore.

Hello @Nelson1 ,

In QlikView you also have the "Custom System Message" on the Qlik Web Servver, on the tab named "AccessPoint". There you can insert messages that will be visible for your users when accessing the AccessPoint.

Cheers,

Albert

Thank you for your reply. That is an interesting suggest, but with the Enterprise version I believe the users have no sign-on process. They go directly to their workspace or published app. The sign-on process is handled in the backend. I am not sure if this could be applied before they are routed to the hub or app on first connection.

For those that could benefit from your suggestion - can you share a link to any documentation?

Thank s again.

Hi @Nelson1 ,

You can change the authentication method from the proxy setting.

As currently in your case authentication method is set to window, that's why you don't get the login page.

If you change the same to Form you will get the login page.

Abhijit
