Qliksense desktop installer returns hash tag error

Hello all,

I have seen a couple Q&As that seem related to my problem, but those answers do not seem to address my current state. Hence I start this new thread. A couple months ago I installed Qliksense Desktop v1, along with the .NET framework. A couple weeks later I saw you had released version 2, but was on a roll, so didn't bother with that upgrade. Yesterday, when running the (v1) app from my Windows 7 (64bit) laptop, I saw a warning message about the license being 'about the expire.' I took this opportunity to try the upgrade installation, and quickly realized that I needed to uninstall v1 to install (clean) v2. After uninstalling v1, I tried the new version's installer, but it faile when trying to install .NET framework; giving the 'hash tag' error message. So, I uninstalled .NET altogether, and started fresh.

But again, I have the error message about hashtag mismatch; see attached. I'm now stuck without any QlikSense desktop install, and of course I'm pushing towards an important 'out brief' of some of the work I've been conducting in recent weeks.

I'd appreciate whatever help and insight you can provide to me. Thank you in advance for your timely assistance.

and in the hopes what I have done today is of help, I post this update. Because I needed .NET framework for some other apps (e.g., Jive for Outlook), I manually installed v 4.5 from the Microsoft site. Upon reboot these other apps work just fine, which prompted me to try another install of Qliksense Desktop v2. Unfortunately, I get the same hash tag error; see contents of new log file below. Thanks again for whatever help/advice you can provide me.

Hi Julie,

Have you tried downloading and installing the .NET package directly from the link in the log?

It should give you the option to repair or remove if you already have 4.5.2 installed.  I'm thinking it may be possible that you only have 4.5.1 installed which is triggering the .net install in the first place.

Chance that was exactly the right thing to do. I'm happy to say I had figured that out --with a little help from my local friends who got tired of listening to me whine -- and did a new installation, which seems to have wiped/updated the original one. And then I was able to install yesterday's release (2.0.3) successfully. I'm quite happy to have overcome my own 'aura.' Thank you for your guidance.

Oh, and I apologize for letting my fingers go with hash tag, and not hash. Guess I was in social media too long over the last couple of days.
