Updating Custom Properties with Excel (ODBC) User upload into QMC

Hi Qlik Community,

I have used this YouTube video to upload user via Excel into the QlikSense QMC.

In the video, there is a reference to "customtype" values, but no practical example of how exactly to enter these into the Excel to upload a user with Custom Properties attached.

In the "Attributes table name" Excel sheet, if I have a Custom Property name STREAM_ACCESS and want to attribute a user a value of ANALYTICS (which is a value already created in STREAM_ACCESS) what are the exact values I need to put in the Excel sheet's "type" and "value" columns to update the user's Custom Properties.

Many thanks for practical advice and experience you have on this.

Kind regards,

Cheenu

Hello,

As far as I know you cannot update the user's custom properties via UDC import.

You can create any user attributes type such as "Role", "Departement", "First Name", "Last Name", ... but those will be considered as User Attributes and not Custom Properties.

There is actually an idea that you can vote on regarding this topics https://community.qlik.com/t5/Suggest-an-Idea/Custom-Properties-Bulk-Load/idi-p/1767384

Finally for massive update of custom properties, I would suggest to leverage our API to programmatically do it

Hope this helps!
