Hi All,
Please I need Qlik Experts and Qlik Support to assist and recommend what's best and the reasons thereof.
To Install Qlik Sense enterprise with an already created domain user profile or go ahead and create a local user instead. Please note the domain user-created already has all the necessary privileges as an administrator.
Just wondering what reasons why the Qlik help site also says something on using a local user on the server.
Thanks and looking forward to feedback and response.
Ayo
It seems like you are referring to this page: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/June2019/Subsystems/PlanningQlikSenseDeployments/Content/Sense_Dep...
Whether you use a local account or a domain account, you will want to go through the steps outlined on the Changing User Account page if you plan to change the service account.
So back to your original question:
- If at all possible, use a domain account.
It would be helpful if you would refer to whatever documentation you are excerpting.
I am not following, that page does not recommend one or the other so do clarify that part.
Ultimately the question is whether you want to access resources off the server. For example a file share, Windows Active Directory, MS SQL Server. At that point domain credentials will be strongly preferred to make provisioning access easier.
Okay let me clarify a bit, the part where to run Qliksense services....
Can a user created on a domain still run such services without running into any form issue in the future?
Regards,
Ayo
