tnsnames.ora file gets overridden with Oracle wallet auth

Hello all,

We are having a strange issue about tnsnames.ora file of the Qlik native oracle connector, maybe some of you here also experienced something similar.

Seems like whenever an Oracle connection is established with wallet authentication, our tnsnames.ora file gets overridden.

This file resides on C:\Program Files\Common Files\Qlik\Custom Data\QvOdbcConnectorPackage\oracle\lib\network\admin

We also have TNS_ADMIN env variable setup on the servers, pointing to a network folder that contains our tnsnames.ora file.

Just wondering if this is an expected behaviour with wallet authentication or maybe we are missing a configuration on sqlnet.ora file.

Thanks!

Elif

Hello @elifapa,

Thanks for posting.

Is Qlik Sense client managed install on the same server as the Oracle DB?

Cheers,

Albert

Hello Albert,

No, db is on remote location. But connector we are using is from Qlik's ODBC package.

Thanks,

Elif

@elifapa  is this still a challenge or did you find the culprit of it?

Cheers,

Albert
