Qlik Community Rankings

This document will explain the meaning of the rankings as they stand within the Qlik Community today.  We will likely update the rankings in the future and when we do, we will update this document to reflect any changes.

The main purpose of the rankings in this online community is to recognize those who contribute and identify those users to other community members. The rankings in this community are a ladder structure, the lowest ranks listed at the bottom.  The more you participate the higher up you will advance up the ladder.   These ranks are updated automatically as you earn them. Below is an image of the Rank Ladder.Rank Ladder 2019.05.29 640x360.jpg

We also have the ability to manually assign a rank to a member.  These rankings reflect a group or team that a member is a part of.   Below is a list of the most common ranks you will see in the community:

I hope this document was helpful to you.

Hi,

Thanks for listing Rank Ladder. Do you have any documentation describing what is driving ranks and how it works? Is it dependent on likes or solutions or maybe some other factors. This is still very vague and i have no idea how it works.

Appreciate your comments on this.

Also I just realised that my "Partner" tag is not shown next to my name (it used to be there in old community). Where do i report this and how does it get fixed?

Thanks

Lech

@Lech_Miszkiewicz Thanks for the feedback. First I will look into the missing partner logo on your profile.  I do not currently have any more details on the rank ladder but will check into it. I suspect its general activity and not specific to action as earning a badge.

@Lech_Miszkiewicz

I learned that the ranks are determined by algorithms that take into account each user’s community participation, including the number of posts, likes given and received, accepted solutions provided, etc.

This setup encourages users to participate without being able to perform one action repeatedly to generate a lot of points (such as liking every post).

I hope this helps.

Hi @Sue_Macaluso,

I should ask the question differently. I knew that there are algorithms behind ranks, it is obvious, but i should ask - are you planning to disclose those algorithms?

In "OLD" community they were straight forward and transparent rules. We understood how you have became a "Guru" or "Legend" or "Prodigy" etc...  using old ranks naming. We knew that for like you got a point, for solution you got 10 points etc. That was clear and everyone understood it.

Now current algorithms are not transparent. I spent time on community every day helping others, but i do not understand what does it take to be lets say: "Esteemed Contributor III". I do not know if I work efficient enough to one day get this rank.

My point here is that we get ranks, but we don't know what they mean. So I don't actually know if the person who has a rank "Valued Contributor I" should be trusted or not or how much this persons answers are worth in terms of best practices and best solution to problem we try to solve here. That person could get this rank just by being liked 10 times and have 5 solutions and be logged on on community for 1 straight month. Currently this is all big dark cloud and we have no idea what those ranks mean and how much effort they require.

appreciate your comments on this.

kind regards

Lech

@Lech_Miszkiewicz  Thank you again. Since we moved to the new platform,  year 1 post-launch was about platform stability, content organization,  moderation,  driving awareness and participation. Rankings, Gamification and MVP program are currently all under evaluation for a 2020 re-release.  So stay tuned and thank you for your patience.

Hi @Sue_Macaluso

Thanks for taking time to chat about it however you did not answer my main question from previous post above:

are you planning to disclose rank algorithms?

Based on your answer i have an impression that there are default platforma algorithms and no one knows how they work, and that the actual algorithms will be developped in the future?

am I right on that?

Thanks

Lech

Hi @Lech_Miszkiewicz,

We've made an update to apply the partner rank icon to partner accounts, and yours has updated accordingly. Please note that the rank of Partner appears instead of the position on the rank ladder.

Best,

Jeremy

Hi,

Is it possible for a partner to achieve a ranking of MVP?

Thanks.

I am sure it is. This rank however is driven by special programs (MVP program which has been inactive for some time and aparently will be resurected). I have asked about this in one of the other post on community.
