This would make extension/widget development cleaner too because otherwise you need to include a color input and a fx input as a separate ui control if you want the option for the color picker to be overriden by expression.
It also makes it closer to how the color selecter in Qlikview was with the "fixed" and "calculated" options.
Not to be picky but it would be cool if they also added the transparency and gradient options that the Qlikview color picker had.
