Data subfolders in Qlik Sense SaaS

It would great to see the ability to support either/and:

a) folders in Qlik Sense SaaS (similar to the way Qlik Sense Enterprise Client-Managed works on the WIndows file system)

Current Example:
Adding a '/' to signify a folder just adds this to the filename, doesn't create a directory

b) when configuring a connection via Qlik Data Transfer, use the 'Name' field of the Data connection as another option under 'Data Files' in the data manager (and thus the Data load editor)

Current Example:
The current method stores everything within a single folder per space - when dealing with large amounts of data/synced QVDs from databases through Qlik Data Transfer, this can be very off-putting by the user - especially lacking the 'wildcard' ability client-managed has

Possible implementation/example:

Hi @Ian_Crosland are you able to provide any sort of ETA ? Not being able to manage folder structure is a showstopper for at least one of our customers. Thanks.

@AndrewMcIlwrick have you tried using separate Shared Spaces for your "show stopped" client?

Each Space would have its own DataFiles and the lib://space:datafiles notation gives a way of managing the code.  All developers needing access to a specific "folder" need edit access to the shared space.

Thanks @AdamBSnotused yes but in my opinion this is just a less than satisfactory workaround. It also in a complicated enterprise environment introduces a plethora of extra spaces to manage rather than a single space with sub-folders. For those of us who work with heavily variable / config driven scripting SaaS just needs to catch up with QSEoW ( and dare I say QV ! ). Thanks anyway.

Fair enough... and I do support the folder idea.

Hi

The developer is currently making the Qixdata files API "public" this will allow it to be called as part of a dev ops process e.g. through QIX-datafiles, following this a lightweight folder structure will be implemented, effectively allowing statements like:

Store * from small_table into 'lib://DataFiles/subdir1/subdir2/myfile1.qvd';

this has a current ETA of Q1

thanks

Hello @Ian_Crosland ,

There are some ideas related to subfolder in content library or auto-update of the file list in content library for Qlik Sense on Windows. Can we expect this Cloud feature also implemented on QSoW? A full access to the File System through the browser would litterally change my life.

Or is it totally different?

Best regards,

Simon

Hi

Its already possible with QSE on Windows to traverse the file system to add files and for adding media

and add items to the content library via the QMC by browsing the file system (although different topic to above)

thanks
