When extracting data from large fact tables via for example an MSSQL server, you have no idea of how large the actual QVD file will become.. And since the file size limit is 500 MB, you will in most cases hit that limit and the data extract will fail.

You need to be able to extract all data from a fact table without having to use a qlik sense desktop or qlikview client to handle the job 😉

The Qlik Datatransfer should be able to split large extractions into x number of QVD files under 500 MB. This could be solved in many ways. But one could be a customized "batch size / number of rows" per QVD file...

This ability to achieve this is now possible via the Data Gateway Direct Access tool, which provides access to on prem sources via the DLE:
