Qlik Replication Encryption support - Salesforce Shield Encryption

This idea is to enhance Qlik replication Salesforce connector.  Enhance Qlik Replicate to support encrypted data

  • There is a company security requirement for Salesforce to configure Shield which is an encryption utility.
  • The Qlik Replicate tasks ignores these encrypted columns and drops the columns  from the defined tables being replicated.
  • We rolled back the Salesforce encryption for the time being.  Support case recommended placing enhancement request.  We are looking at other replication products to support this use case.

*This is a limitation mentioned in the Qlik user guide.

This is a feature every user of Salesforce and Qlik Replicate needs. The work around with RELOAD using the Saleforce Bulk API is ok for small volumes of data, but this is needed in CDC.

Thank you for the suggestion.  We are looking into options for possibly supporting this in a future release and in the meantime will leave this open for feedback from others as well.

@DataGuyAtHeart

Is Replicate was using the Salesforce Bulk API by default?  Can we change the Qlik tasks to use that API or is this handled outside of Qlik?

Thank you

Lori
