SQL Server Source - Encrypted data replication to target

This idea is to enhance Qlik replication process to support encrypted data.

This limitation is mentioned in the Qlik user guide.

"Column-level encryption is not supported as SQL Server database as source and hence you are not seeing data for encrypted columns"

This is very common use case to keep encrypted data on Source (our case SQL Server), and the same is expected to replicate on target (our case Snowflake).

Column level encryption is not supported with TDE, only using always encrypted.

Are you asking us to support Always-encrypted?

Also need this for Salesforce Shield encryption implementation.  Qlik Replicate does not see those columns.

I have a similar request from a POC prospect to support SQL Server homogeneous replication support for tables with 'Always Encrypted' data. Details are on the *internal* ideation site:

At the least, the prospect would like a documented way to handle it. At best, it would be ideal to have a feature to automatically handle it.

We have a use case that is very similar where we'd like to leverage authentication (encryption keys) to write to a SQL Server target that has the encryption features enabled as confidential information is coming from source systems.

We also have a requirement to utilize the always encrypted features of sql server on for targets.  Given the modern security climate i'm surprised that this isn't a higher priority.
