Installer wont start on MacOS 10.15.1 - no error

I have searched the forums high and low and cant seem to get to the bottom of this.

I was able to successfully run TOS-DQ 7.1.1 on the same machine, but the installer for TOS-DI doesn't do anything.

I downloaded TOS_DI-20190620_1446-V7.2.1-osx-installer.dmg to Downloads

I double-clicked TOS_DI-20190620_1446-V7.2.1-osx-installer.dmg and it mounted a volume, and TOSDI-7.2.1-osx-installer appeared.

When I double-click on TOSDI-7.2.1-osx-installer it opens in the task bar, and I get the warning about it being a file from the internet, I click open and then nothing happens and the installer icon disappears.

I tried right-clicking the installer and choosing "Show Package Contents"

I then tried to run that, and I get the error: Bad CPU type in executable:

(base) THOMAS-MBP:Applications tcook$ /Applications/TOSDI-7.2.1-osx-installer.app/Contents/MacOS/installbuilder.sh
/Applications/TOSDI-7.2.1-osx-installer.app/Contents/MacOS/installbuilder.sh: line 20: /Applications/TOSDI-7.2.1-osx-installer.app/Contents/MacOS/osx-intel: Bad CPU type in executable

Java set up is good, as I have Talend Data Quality working.

(base) THOMAS-MBP:~ tcook$ /usr/libexec/java_home
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_241.jdk/Contents/Home
(base) THOMAS-MBP:~ tcook$ java -version
java version "1.8.0_241"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_241-b07)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.241-b07, mixed mode)
(base) THOMAS-MBP:~ tcook$ echo $JAVA_HOME
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_241.jdk/Contents/Home/
(base) THOMAS-MBP:~ tcook$

TIA,

Thomas

Hello,

I've got the same problem with MacOS 10.15.4 Catalina.

Did you find a solution?

Thanks in advance

Laura

I am seeing the same error on MacOS Catalina10.15.3. Still looking for a solution.

You need to download a newer version of the software: it solved my issue

Which version of the software are you using? I just tried using Talend 7.2.1 and I am still seeing this issue. I am currently on macOS Catalina 10.15.4.

Thanks,

Hi twn5044,
i have talend openstudio 7.3.1 downloaded from https://www.talend.com/download/, successfully running on macOS Catalina 10.15.4

Thanks. I downloaded that version and it is working now as it should. It
looks like the default download link on the Talend website downloads 7.2.1,
which was the cause of the original error. Odd that the most recent version
isn’t the default, but glad I have things working now. Thanks for your
help!

That link only gives me a page to load the latest version 7.2.1. How are  you accessing the 7.3.1 DMG?

Try using the below link. The default download option on the Talend site for some reason gives you 7.2, but you should be able to find later releases here. This was the issue I had as well.
