Talend Open Studio install on Mac running M2 chip failing

I am trying to install Talend Open Studio on a Mac Powerbook running Ventura 13.0.1 with the M2 Chip.

I get the popup do you trust this app etc and agree yes ... the installer starts to run ... I get a menu title top left. ... and a small black rectangle displayed that does nothing. I cannot interact with the black rectangle and the agree to the license agreement never comes up.

I have installed JDK v11 ... but my $JAVA_HOME may not be correct .... Is this an issue ? Or should I at least get a working window and agree to the licensing agreement ... then get an error message.

I get no error messages.

I would be grateful for any help.

Will your R&D team come back with a response in a few days ?

Should I try a Java x64 combination instead ?

Or ... Go install Parallels + Windows and then run TOS in windows ?

Appreciate you help

Trying the Java x64 *may* work. I didn't want to suggest you do that since it will be slower and may cause you issues for other Java apps on your machine. Having said that, that is exactly what I do with my Mac....but I have an M1 on Monterey.

I've not tried Parallels since I have never needed to. But that may be an answer for you as well.

I cannot promise a response from R&D in a few days unfortunately. However I have linked to this post in the Jira, so hopefully they will respond back here with any workarounds they find.

Hi @stephen bellhouse ,

I replied to this question yesterday, is this not viewable? FYI that is NOT intended to be passive aggressive at all, I want to check that there isn't a problem here. No worries if you just missed it. I didn't tag you in it (my fault) so you may not have been notified.

Hi RHall,

Thank you. No I couldn't see your previous reply. But may be it was hidden under More/ Expand Post ...

Now that I go back I can see it. I will try the x64 option next as it will keep me in osx.

I would rather not use Parallels and a windows option, both because of additional costs and complexity. But also because I have a past in Unix and feel more comfortable in osx.

I will keep monitoring this tread for any updates from your R&D.

I appreciate your help. Thank you,

Stephen
