Qlik Data Transfer - mapped "physical" drive

Hi Guys,

we need to transfer data (on-premise) to Qlik Cloud. We are using Qlik Data Transfer, but data we would like to upload to cloud resides on an FTP server.

We have mounted the server via RaiDrive (because we needed a solution specifically with 'FTP over SSL' option) using an extension called 'Local Disk'. This would mean that the mapped drive would behave as a physical disk.

We also place data on FTP server into a folder, so we are not using root folder in QDT.

Yet, it does not work. Do you have any suggestions how to get data from FTP so that Qlik Data Transfer could synchronize it? Or do any of you have eyperience with RaiDrive and QDT?

Thanks for the answers!

BR

Tibor

Hi Tibor, I use QDT several times but always with a QlikView file. Sometime I think that you must use the rootfolder under programdata for sync. But don't know for sure.

Hi Martijn,

I think the problem here lies in our mapped FTP folder. QDT is infamous to not work with these mapped drives, but I thought using an option that behaves like a physical drive would do the trick.

Currently I am looking at WinSCP to get data to the server where QDT resides, I am curious whether there is an easier way...

Hi Tibor, ah ok. In this case my knowledge is not sufficient. Good luck to find the easier way!

So I have managed to copy files from FTP to local folder via a batch script. So far so good. But, Qlik Data Transfer only refreshes files from one specific folder and not the other. I have no idea why, I've played around with naming conventions, adding/modifying more data but nothing works. Both folder reside directly under drive C.

So C:\test works just fine but C:\data does not. Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks!

Hi Tibor, in my opinion is Qlik DataTransfer very limited but ok it's transferring data. I think Qlik use one specific location. Normally my data from a Qlik script is under C:\ProgramData\Qlik\DataTransfer\DataUpload\qixdata

Ik can select this folder in option Data Folders. But I don't have a customer that use this option. So I don't know if it works.
