When the engine loads from an incomplete QVD, it doesn't realize that there is a discrepancy between the number of records the QVD should contain (obtainable by the QvdNoOfRecords function) and the number of records actually present in the document. So, an incomplete set of data is loaded, and the customer ends up making their decision on that.
In most recent versions of QlikView and Qlik Sense, if the STORE of data to a qvd gets interrupted mid-way through (because of disk or network issues), the reload task will result in a failure. Avoid loading .qvd files that are the result of a failed task.
If that's not possible, it should be possible to modify the reload script so that discrepancies between QvdNoOfRecords and the actual number or records that are reloaded results in a failure.
This is currently a known limitation. However, R&D has initiated an improvement action with ID EN-2794
Information provided on this improvement action is given as is at the time of documenting. For up to date information, please review the most recent Release Notes, or contact support at support.qlik.com with the ID EN-2794 for reference.
