Qlik Sense Editions: QSE SaaS - Qlik Sense Business - QSEoW - QSEoK

In an effort to further clarify the differences between the Qlik Sense editions available and how Multi-Cloud ties in with those, the information and links below are referenced.

Environment(s):

  • Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows, (QSEoW)
  • Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes, (QSEoK)
  • Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS, (QSE SaaS, formerly known as QSEoCS)
  • Qlik Sense Business (QSB)

Qlik Sense Editions:

Qlik Sense Enterprise (QSE) is provided in Microsoft Windows (QSEoW), Linux with Kubernetes orchestration  environments (QSEoK), as well as in form of a Cloud (SaaS/QCS) solution:

The two editions above are to be deployed by the end-customer or Consulting Services.

The later (SaaS) is hosted by Qlik on its private secured Cloud, and is often loosely called Qlik Cloud Services (QCS) but consists of two different editions of Qlik's SaaS solutions, Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS (QSE SaaS) and Qlik Sense Business (QSB).

The SaaS editions are hosted on a Kubernetes containerized environment, so both SaaS solutions above look and feels very similar to Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes (QSEoK), which can be deployed on a Kubernetes private cloud cluster of choice. However QSEoK is a client-managed solution. For more information on this distinction see Using different editions of Qlik Sense.

The deployment of QSE SaaS or QSEoK in addition to QSEoW allows for what is called Multi-Cloud deployments where applications can be distributed from QSEoW to either QSE SaaS or QSEoK, and viewed in what is called the "Cloud Hub". More information under Qlik Multi-Cloud Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)  Notice that Multi-Cloud deployment and bring-your-own-IdP (BYOIDP) features available in QSE SaaS are not supported in QSB.
