Removing a QlikView Publisher license from a QlikView Server cannot be done simply by removing the license in the QlikView Management Console. Some additional steps are required to recreate the QVPR database and to revert it to its pre-Publisher state.
Removing the Publisher license will also remove all current tasks and rebuild the QVPR database. Back up all files mentioned before making any changes to the files and folders.
If a previous backup of the QVPR database was created before applying the Publisher license, you may extract the zip file to the QVPR folder at this time. The backup is located in the %ProgramData%\QlikTech\ManagementService\QVPR\Backups. If there is no backup, tasks will need to be recreated manually.
If you are not actually looking to remove or add the QlikView Publisher but to simply update an existing Publisher license, then go to the QlikView Management Console (QMC), switch to System > License > and click the Publisher license tab. There, click the Update License button.
To remove the Publisher license:
Stop the QlikView Management Service (QMS) and QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) from the Windows Services applet (Start menu > Administrative Tools > Services applet)
Go to folder %ProgramData%\QlikTech\ManagementService
Rename or remove the PublisherLef folder
Rename or remove the Reginfo.txt file
Remove all XMLand bakfiles located in the QVPR folder
Rename or remove qvpr_servername configuration settings file
Restart the QlikView Management Service and QlikView Distribution Service from the Services applet
