This error is typically resolved by the following 2 configurations:
User settings for the QlikView Desktop client are stored for each user in %Users%\<Username>\AppData\Romaing\QlikTech. Ensure that this folder path is excluded from Anti-virus and all other software that performs real-time scanning.
Ensure that the build version of QlikView Desktop is identical to the build version of QlikView Server, if running in the same environment.
The error is misleading since it should happen on QV Server side but in our case the customer is opening a local document (Not Open in Server). R&D believe that the error message might be misleading and actually being triggered by a Windows Function Error wrongly interpreted by QlikView Desktop:
