Environment

  • Compose for Data Warehouse 7. x
  • Qlik Compose 2021.2.x
  • Qlik Compose 2021.5.x
  • Qlik Compose 2021.8.x
  • Qlik Compose 2022.5.x

Databases

MS SQL Server and MS Synapse

Steps

  1.  Create a brand new empty project. Ex: New_Synapse_Project

  2. Create a deployment package of the SQL Server project that you want to migrate to the Synapse project. Ex: Sql_Server_project

  3. Deploy the project, SQL_Serve_Project from step#2 into the new project, New_Synapse_Project that you created in step#1.

  4. In the newly deployed project, New_synapse_project, change the connection string information to point to the synapse database.

  5. Adjust the below project setting of the newly created project, New_synapse_project  to match with the SQL server project  from step#2.

             -General

             - Naming

             - Environment

             - Table Creation Modifier (this option exists only in Qlik Compose 2021.8 or higher)

  6. Now take the deployment of the newly created project, New_synapse_project (connection in this project should be pointing to the synapse database).

  7.  Create another new project. Ex Synapse_project

  8. Now deploy the New_Synapse Project  from step#6 into the Synapse_project that was created in Step#7.

  9. Restart the Compose service.
