Qlik NPrinting Designer cannot find a supported template editor

Qlik NPrinting May 2021 SR3 solves. Refer to the  Release Notes

Starting from Microsoft Office 365 v2109 Qlik NPrinting Designer could show the error: “Qlik NPrinting Designer can't find a supported reporting template editor for this file” when editing Excel or PowerPoint templates.

To solve the issue do the following instructions only on the computers where you want to use Qlik NPrinting Designer:

1 Open Excel (stand alone, not needed to open it in the Qlik NPrinting Designer)

2 Open the Options tab

3 in the General be sure that When using multiple displays is set to Optimize for best appearance. It is the default setting.

4 Close by clicking on Ok and you can close also Excel

5 Repeat the same operation in PowerPoint

6 Open the Qlik NPrinting Designer installation folder with file explorer. The default path is C:\Program Files (x86)\NPrinting\Designer

7 Do a right click over the executable file NPrintingDesigner.exe and select Properties

10 Close all opened windows by clicking on Ok

 Now you can open Qlik NPrinting Designer on usual way.

The additional "Disable fullscreen optimizations"  and toggling between these excel options below finally fixed it for our site.

oh and additionally also changed this option, not sure if it helped, problem seems to go away/come back based on external monitors.  We found swapping between office and home (different screens) sometimes caused the problem to come back.

@Eugenen , @Ruggero_Piccoli

The solution of @Eugenen worked for me. The only thing is, I had to leave the "Optimize for compatibility" turned on.

The "Disable full screen optimizations" setting for designer.exe was the one for me that fixed this finally. Just the upgrade to May 2021 SR3 did not fix it.

Thanks,
Marc
