- The SharePoint web connector fails in reload with an "Unknown Error" or "Unauthorized" error message.
It is possible to get an "Access is denied: the authentication has failed or has not been provided" error message when opening the tables in the Data Connection in the Script.
Environment
- Qlik Sense February 2021 Patch 15
- Qlik Sense May 2021 Patch 5 to 9
- Qlik Sense August 2021 Patch 1 to 4
- Qlik Sense November 2021 Patch 1
Resolution
Upgrade to a fixed release as soon as it is published:
- Qlik Sense February 2021 Patch 16 or higher
- Qlik Sense May 2021 Patch 10 or higher
- Qlik Sense August 2021 Patch 5 or higher
- Qlik Sense November 2021 Patch 2 or higher
It is possible that the connection fails even after the upgrade, generally showing this error message: "Peer certificate cannot be authenticated".
In this case, please
- Locate the settings.ini file and prepare it for modification as per this article.
- Modify the settings.ini by adding:
[Settings 7]
WebFileUseWinAPI=1
In both Qlikview and Qlik Sense, setting the settings.ini WebFileUseWinAPI = 1 will activate the old way of handling web files which use Windows APIs instead of libcurl and lets Windows handle the proxy redirecting. Since the internet proxy is bypassed using libcurl it is useful to activate this setting if you require the web traffic to go through the proxy.
Cause
