Can a signed license key be used in an environment disconnected from the Internet?
Qlik Sense and QlikView are available with two license models:
- Signed license
- LEF license (old model)
A signed license key requires the Qlik Licensing Service to have connectivity to the Licensing Server. If the system remains offline for too long, end user access will be affected. Qlik Sense April 2020 and later supports Delayed Sync, which allows for the product to operate for 90 days before internet connectivity is required. See How to activate Qlik Sense, QlikView, and Qlik NPrinting without Internet Access .
Example:
Qlik Sense is installed on a host without internet connectivity. It was temporarily connected to allow for the license to be enabled and was disconnected afterwards.
Two days later users are unable to consume consumption licenses.
5 days later, end-users see You have no access pass errors when opening the Qlik Sense Hub.
See License Management (Qlik Sense) and Licensing QlikView (QlikView) for more details on the licensing models available.
Resolution:
