Error: the user is not authorized to write the file metadata

Hi,

I am using the Qlik Sense Business Porfessional and having a few apps loading data from DB and storing QVDs. Everything was working fine until today. When i try to store a new QVD, I get the "The user is not authorized to write the file metadata instance for space ID" error.

The user is the only user in the whole solution (tenant admin, developer).

Do you have any ideas, what is the problem?

Thank you so much.

Hi everyone! Do your qvds contain slashes ("/") or any other special characters at the beginning of the name? If so, please remove it and test it again.

This problem happened in the past, in July 2020 and the support team fix it.
Check this topic in Qlik Community: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Deployment-Management/QSB-The-user-is-not-authorized-to-write-the-file...

Any news? We can't use Qlik Sense for +24 hours and it is a critical problem for us.

Hi @Patrick_Pescetto The team is working to fix the issue and ETA is tomorrow. In the meantime, as Daniele suggested if the QVDs name contains any special characters, remove them and try loading the data. Thank you!

Hello Vinay_B

This is not a solution for us because we have all entire QVD's with slash '/' character. We can't remove them in the name of the file because we have a lot of number of QVDs...

Please let me know when the issue is fixed. Thank you so much.

Hello all,

Our teams are diligently working on this and we will keep you updated within any relevant update. Furthermore, also the topic mentioned on https://community.qlik.com/t5/Deployment-Management/QSB-The-user-is-not-authorized-to-write-the-file... might look the same, notice the culprit of it might not be the same and is not.

Actions are been taken with the goal of preventing past issues to reoccur.

Cheers,

Albert

The fix is now deployed in all regions.
Manual reloads from within the app might still fail for a while if you had the app open, until the grace period expires.
