Qlik Cloud - Can't publish a distributed QlikView document in a space

I distributed a QlikView document to Qlik Cloud using the QlikView server

p_verkooijen_1-1726500869960.png

The document appears, because it's linked as an App in my Personal space other users cannot see it. How do I publish it to a managed space? There is no Publish option

I am the owner of the Managed space I want to publish it to, and have given myself Can Publish rights

Hello @p_verkooijen

To view the distributed qvws/apps in the cloud, via the 'Content' menu in the management console, you need to switch to staged from Source or Published.
Then you can change the owner and set the space.

For more information see:

Apps overview

Kind regards...

Hi @Frank_S,

After publishing the app yesterday, QlikView has distributed an updated QlikView document to Qlik Cloud.

Only this only updates the Personal app. it does not update the published app (because it is a copy of the original)

How can I get QlikView to update the correct app? Can't manually publish the app every day.

I've deleted the Personal app hoping it would update the published version, but it does not. It just creates a new Personal app

Fixed it, removed the Published app.

Open Administration

p_verkooijen_1-1726756246495.png

  1. Go Content
  2. Switch to Staged
  3. Set space

p_verkooijen_0-1726756150380.png

Move it to the managed space

p_verkooijen_2-1726756279721.png

Now the app is not duplicated and QlikView <> Qlik Cloud keeps the same reference app to update.

Hello ,

Please confirm the following :

1. Can you see the application in the managed space?

2. If you publish a test application to the space, can you and the users see it?

3. Review the article link on creating spaces and publishing to spaces.

Helpful links:

1. Publishing a QlikView document in Qlik Cloud

Security considerations
When you publish a QlikView document or a link to a QlikView document, they are not published with any existing security rules. It is up to the Qlik Cloud admin to add the published QlikView document to a managed space. Managed spaces are used for providing governed access to apps with strict access control both for the app and the app data. In a managed space, only the space owner and target app consumers can open the apps. No other users can open the apps in the managed space unless they have been given permission. For more information on managed spaces, see Working in managed spaces.

Hi @Ray_Strother

I have a managed space with other QlikView documents.
If I upload the document manually, I can publish it to the managed space.
The new document is in the Personal space, however it does not show who is the owner.

The 1st link you send is the same as I posted before. The issue is that a distributed QlikView document can't be published. And a manually uploaded version can.

Distributed with QlikView Server

@Frank_S

Yes this did the trick!  Thank you very much.

I now see there is a mention of it in the help https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/QlikViewInCloud/QMC_Docu...
