Qlik Multinode Performance issue after Migration (Hub and QMC)

Hi Community,

At one of our clients, we recently performed a multi-node migration.

The installation originally consisted of a central node (including the Repository and File Share) and three separate RIM nodes.
We moved the central node to a new server, splitting the files and Repository onto separate, dedicated servers.

The installation was successful, and everything appears to be working fine. However, we are now experiencing performance issues in the QMC and the hub when loading Qlik Sense apps.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues after such a migration?
We are unsure where to look at this point.

We ran some tests, and the latency between the servers is at most 25 milliseconds.
The file transfer speed between the File Server and Database Server is around 730 MB per second, which seems reasonable.

What other bottlenecks could be causing this issue?

@DaanBrand1988 what version is QlikSense on?

Can you quantify the performance issues?

Was the Postgres originally running 'bundled' and now you have split it using QPI?

Hi David,

Version is November 2023. It is an big environment where 200 customers are login to. So our customer didn't want to upgrade it to a newer version yet before testing it and make sure everything is working as before.

Performance issues for example:
- It takes longer to open an app
- Get a list of all the tasks or apps in QMC takes much longer,
- While reloading Sessions Monitor, after 30 minutes we are receiving a timeout error for the monitor_apps_REST_appobject.

We did a fresh installation of the PostgresSQL. It was already upgraded to a 14 version before in the old installation.

Do you have the same issues when using all nodes? In terms of opening app speed you should also monitor the file transfer speed between the fileshare server and all the nodes.

Thanks for your help, we found out that the new DB server didn't have enough resources.

CPU kept going to 100%
