Qlik Sense Desktop 15.13.14 - Error 1003 when opening QVF files from UNC network path

Hello Qlik Support,

We are experiencing an issue with Qlik Sense Desktop 15.13.14 when opening QVF files directly from a network share.

Environment

• Qlik Sense Desktop 15.13.11 (working)
• Qlik Sense Desktop 15.13.14 (failing)
• Windows 10/11
• Network share: \\file\...
  
  
  Issue

  Users running Qlik Sense Desktop 15.13.14 receive the following error when opening QVF files directly from the network share:

  Error 1003

  App not found

  Could not find app

  Findings

  • The issue is reproducible across multiple users.
  • The issue occurs with multiple QVF applications.
  • Qlik Sense Desktop 15.13.11 can open the same QVF files from the same network share without any issues.
  • The applications are not corrupted.
  • If the same QVF file is copied locally (for example under the user's Documents\Qlik folder), it opens successfully using version 15.13.14.
  • The failure only occurs when opening the application directly from the UNC path.

  Based on our testing, this appears to be a regression introduced between versions 15.13.11 and 15.13.14, specifically affecting QVF files stored on network shares.

  Could you please advise:

  1. Whether this is a known issue.
  2. If any changes were introduced regarding UNC/network path access in these versions.
  3. Whether there is a workaround available.
  4. If a defect has already been identified and fixed in a newer release.
