Attached is a QlikView app to analyse the log files generated by NPrinting v16.
Note -The attached App requires a QlikView desktop licence to open and is not compatible with Personal Edition.
The app has been purged of all data, so you will need to set the location of your NPrinting log files on the Configuration tab and then reload your data into the app for it to work.
The Event List box is generated by parsing the message text through a series of wildmatch() expressions in the load script to categorise the entries in the log file. You can modify the script to add further Event categories.
The text objects above the main chart have Actions which set various filters to select the range of events and dates.
The Source filter allows you to select logs generated by service events or logs generated from the NP Desktop app.
Version2 now includes the Parent Schedule, Message Type and additional charts.
This app is a "work in progress" but has proved useful in checking the NPrinting tasks we use internally and on our customer sites.
Hopefully you will also find this useful.

Colin
Hi,
at the moment there is not an official app for Qlik NPrinting 17+. Consider also that the structure of the repository could change among versions to implement new features.

Hi Ruggero,
I am looking for a simple dashboard that tells me if any task has failed for the day and if any of the reports haven't been distributed to some/all users. For example, often I see there are tasks that are partially successful (with a warning), and the report wasn't distributed to some users.
Now if I want to know which users haven't received the report, I need to go to task executions, go to the logs, take the user ID, decode the ID to get the user name; and repeat it for every failure. It would have saved lot of time if we could have a dashboard to quickly check this.
I tried to read the logs in a QlikView application to see if I could create something simple. But looks like we don't have enough logs to meet my requirement.
Any guidance you can provide would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Bhaskar
Hi,
You could try the task notifications https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/June2020/Content/NPrinting/AdministeringQVNprinting/Admin-sett.... Otherwise you have to connect with the Repository and load data (for example users ID) from it. In this case pay attention to not damage it and create a backup before. At the moment we have not an official tool.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
