Direct Access gateway Hardware Requirements
Hello,
I'm reviewing the hardware requirements for the Direct Access gateway, and they state the the server needs the following hardware:
-
8 cores
-
32 GB memory
-
5 GB storage
The storage is reasonable, but 8 cores and 32 GB of memory seem large for an agent that proxies data to the cloud. Does anyone have experience with running the Direct Access gateway on a server with smaller specs? The specs seem more geared for a Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows.
Any input into sizing a Direct Access gateway would be appreciated.

Lucas

Hi @lblancher ,
we have seen many scenarios where running on smaller specs resulted in problems.
Please note that, in case of issues, Qlik Support will not be able to assist you if you don't match the system requirements.

This post was some time ago so likely it's been resolved. If you look at the details in the link below you will find that 8/32/5 is the "Recommended" spec, however there is also a "Minimum" spec of 4/8/5 along with a disclaimer - "More resources might be required to provide for consistent processing of increasing data volumes and higher counts of concurrent reloads. The point at which the performance becomes unacceptable depends on the use case and configuration within each unique environment.
