Qlik Cloud and Knowledge Refresh

Hello Everyone,

It’s been about a year since I last worked with Qlik Sense, and I understand that a lot has changed during this time—especially with the evolution of Qlik Cloud. I’m planning to restart my journey with Qlik and would really appreciate some guidance from this community.

Could you please share:

  • The major changes or new features introduced over the past year

  • Key differences between Qlik Sense Enterprise (on-prem) and Qlik Cloud today

  • Any important updates in UI, scripting, data modeling, or governance

  • Recommended learning paths, resources, or best practices for getting back up to speed- QlikSense and Qlik cloud.

Your insights and suggestions will be extremely helpful as I re-skill and move forward.
Thanks in advance for your support!

Hello Jay,
What has been your role in qlik world? If you are a developer or an admin person or architect who is responsible of both of the worlds - would define what you need to be aware of in this sea of changes that have happened during this course. If you are a developer, you are left with less of burden, the core engine remains same, however there are some important new additions/changes in charts/native objects.
 - you got layout container
 - many new features/options in various charts like straight table, pivot, line, combo, etc.
 - some whole new charts
 - some new functions in script and or UI

platform architecture wise - qlik cloud is very different than it's enterprise (on-prem) counter-part.
 - you will have 'space' here instead of 'stream' and they are of diff types
 - you have various limitations (some depend on your org's tenant type/subscription)
 - your max reload time in cloud is 3 hours
 - you have collaborative development experience now in cloud
 - you have app size limit here

... will go on and on!

You have to start working on it to feel (and really enjoy!) this sea of changes for good.
