Where are deleted applications stored in Qlik Cloud?

Hi everyone,

I would like to know if there's a way to retrieve or check where applications that have been deleted from Qlik Cloud are stored. Is there any recovery option or a specific area where these applications are temporarily kept before being permanently deleted?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not an expert on this, but I don't believe that Qlik stores apps once they are deleted from Qlik Cloud.  We make a point to export dashboards to our local file system (we do CM locally), before we move them into production.  I think that there are some third party tools out there that will do this.  At QlikWorld 2024 I saw a demo by Motio (I am not affiliated with Motio) that had this capability.

Hello,

I am a daily user of Qlik Cloud. According to me, deleted app are permanently deleted.

Kind regards.

Hi! In Qlik Cloud, unfortunately, there is no native recycle bin or recovery option for deleted applications. Once an app is deleted, it is permanently gone, unless you have set up a backup mechanism or have exported the app beforehand.

However, some organizations create a "recycle bin" workaround by setting up a dedicated shared space where applications can be moved for temporary storage before deletion. This way, you can ensure a form of manual recovery if needed.

For a more automated approach, you can explore the use of CI/CD pipelines or automation tools to back up your apps, but there is no built-in system for app recovery after deletion in Qlik Cloud as of now

If you're interested in this feature, there's a growing request from the Qlik community to implement it, and you can participate in that discussion via the Qlik community forums.
