Qlik Saas SQL connection problem to on-prem SQL server

Good day,

Based on the below link our SQL connection to one of our on-prem SQL servers broke.

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Support-Updates/Qlik-Cloud-Analytics-will-no-longer-function-with-outd....

However...

The SQL server is running on:

Win Server 2012 R2

Ms SQL Server 2014

The error we are getting with the SQL connector in Qlik Saas looks like below:

From a TLS perspective it looks like the following on the server:

Judge_Qlik_2-1693261262401.png

We also did a check on the firewall and all seems good for incoming traffic from Qlik Saas.

Im guessing this might be our problem:

Later operating systems have newer ciphers in them. We possibly need Qlik to confirm which ciphers they require?

Can you please assist?

Kind regards

James

Hi @Judge_Qlik ,
this issue is due to a problem with a third-party component and Windows 2012.
We do have a fix coming to Qlik Cloud, but I'm afraid it will not be in the immediate days.

Possible workarounds in the meantime:

  • use Qlik Data Gateway Direct Access or Qlik Data Transfer for the connection
  • upgrade the operating system

I hope this helps!
