Ad Hoc Reporting in Qlik Sense

Hi,

Can any one tell me how to create a Ad hoc report in Qlik Sense?

I mean the Dimensions and the Expressions has to be placed in QVF. Whenever client drag and drop the particular he should get the charts in the work area.

Is this possible in Qlik Sense, if so please let me know how to do this with an example.

Regards,

Nandha

Create a chart.

Right Click on it and add it to Master Items.

It will show up as a Visualisation

Hello Nandha,

This is absolutely possible, but requires a brief understanding of the product and the process it follows.

Firstly - one would need to use Qlik Sense Enterprise (server / browser based solution) - this will enable content admins to create apps in their work stream. They can create visualizations and populate the master items lists with reusable dimensions, measures and charts. Then the app is published (using the QMC) to another stream that others have secure access to. Those individuals can then work with the Base sheets for that app OR create their own in an "Ad hoc" manner - using what was defined for them.

You can see this and use this right now on our demo site: here is an example:

Qlik Sense

Click that link and then when the App overview loads - click Create New Sheet under My Sheets:

The click Edit when the design interface comes up - and you will see what has been prepared for you in the left side panel:

Build what you need:

In a server environment, this can be your own personal copy, or you can publish it to the broader community for others to use.

Take a look at these videos as well that explain a lot of this:

Please mark the appropriate replies as CORRECT / HELPFUL so our team and other members know that your question(s) has been answered to your satisfaction.

Check the attached file where Adhoc and Dynamic Reports is created.

This is the default feature in Qliksense

Go to the document and edit, go to master items you will find the customized dimensions and measures.

Simply drag the dim. and measures and get the visualization of your choice.

Thanks

Satish

Hey Mike,

I am using mashups for my dashboards. But i have to create adhoc report as well. In mashups, self service is not available i.e. user cannot edit sheets and cannot create own charts. So, can you advice anything on this?
