Cannot save data

Hi

Am evaluating QlikSense Desktop but cannot create my first dashboard.

I've opened a .csv file and can see all my data... however, when I click on "Load Data" I get:

An Error Occurred

-----------------

The Object could not be saved.

Note that I am using a roaming profile and most of my files are stored on a DFS share.

I'm happy to save to a local drive - but can't see any options to let me choose.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew

You need to create a "Folder connection".

Let's say you called it "StoreFolder" and your loaded data table is called "myTable",

then you store the data as a qvd using this syntax:

Store myTable into [lib://StoreFolder/myTable.qvd(qvd);

Hi Andrew - can you please let us know if this helps?

(please make a backup of your registry first)

This mostly likely has to do with the roaming profile - as I understand we require a local documents location for the apps to be stored with the free version of Desktop, which is usually: C:\Users\<user profile>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps

  • Close Desktop
  • Open regedit
  • Seach for HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
  • Change the path in "Personal" entry to a local path, but remember the old path!
  • Change the path in "Personal" to your old.
  • Start Desktop
