Need advice on default /single filter selection.

I am new to Qlik Community, and I was wondering if it is possible to set the filter as default in an app. Also, is it possible to limit the filter selection to a single value?

In addition, I want to capture the entered filter value and use in my calculation.

Have you tried using Alternate States? In that case you can make the required selection on the sheet, which will keep the selection default. As the selection is already made, the calculation should also reflect the selected value. Alternately you can use set analysis for your calculation specifying the field value = the selection value.

if i understand correctly you want a set of filters to be activated when app opens.

if thats the issue ..

with the september release i beleive it is possible to create bookmarks and set that as the default when you open the app.
